The Scourge lives up to its name and Enlightening The Unknown make buildings collapse. The Scourge is another sample of unrestrained derangement razing the reason and pushing the envelope with lots of fast drumming and insane guitar flicks. Here are 15 newer brutal metal acts making waves in Japan today. It’s like a satanic steamroller made to annihilate the life on Earth with no piety.īeyond The Stellar Remnants just put more fire into this crescendo of inhuman death metal machine, severing the heads of headbangers off!!!!! I mean the BPM is so fast and the band was so packed in the moment of the recordings that everything they wanted was to vaporize the fucking human race! Influenced by the godfathers of the scene from the ’90s such as Coffins and Butcher ABC, this new breed of death metal acts seeks to push the extremes, proving that Japan doesn’t just specialize in violent horror and sick manga, but relentlessly brutal music, too. The dementia never stops and The Faceless One brings more destructive music into the fold. But as the songs go further, I started to understand that the vocals and sound alike are flat, and this is exactly the effect the band wants in order to give lashes upon lashes of ignorant songs. Well I confess that by the first spin I didn’t like the vocals very much, that brings his influence from the “core” bands, and I based my views on this biased spectrum. The first track is a useless intro, but when Absorbing The Masse comes, it’s tearing everything apart. This disc has only 7 tracks clocking at 24 minutes. This CD was produced in the same studio of Hour Of Penance, Fleshgod Apocalypse and it contains QUALITY.ĭamnit, this is brutal beyond control, no rest between the tracks no breaks, only infuriating blast beats and infernal guitars from beyond. Even with the band split up, Kaotoxin is releasing their last effort, the gargantuan brutal grind/death destructive metal Enlightening the Unknown. Insain, Parisian Death Metal, unfortunately is no more. Please, follow Dark Souls United on Twitter: Īlso you can communicate with us directly through Facebook: Parables Of Umbral Transcendence is out now Gore House Productions. Something very rare for their style, and if they want, they can change the game in their favor. The case here is that, contrary to other bands of the style, it’s pleasant to hear.
Swine Overlord was cleverly made: they invest time in their qualities, even if the flaws are still there.īut don’t get deceived: it never gets too fast, it never gets too technical, it has a lot of stoppages, it has “pig-squeals”. Other important point is here: don’t listen to this CD once, because it’s the kind that gets better every time you spin it.
I’m not saying this without a point: even though they still “slam”, they managed to mix their style with actual death metal which places them in a unique place between other bands: the pseudo-brutal death metal sound puts its brutality somewhere else: in the heaviness of riffs and good drumming, (albeit no “technical” in a death metal sense). But although Swine Overlord may not change my idea over the style, they are actually a good band. I covered one or another band here, with some harsh critics. Slamming death metal never was my favorite style, because for me it was a synonym of deathcore with another name.
